Amber has been working in the mental health field since 2008. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of the Cumberlands and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Union College of Kentucky. She is a Licensed Counseling Professional Associate (LPCA) certified by the Kentucky Board of Counseling. She earned her certification in Eating Disorders and Obesity from Northern Illinois University in 2017. Amber also belongs to the professional organization, the Kentucky Counseling Association.

She has spent her career working with both children and adults in a variety of treatment settings. Amber is skilled in treating various mental health issues and has maintained most of her career as an addictions specialist. She utilizes her skills in addiction to assist her clients in identifying destructive habits, "food addictive" patterns, and develop a positive approach to overall health and wellness. She has a passion for assisting clients in achieving their health goals and learning to love nutritious foods and exercise, as well as finding love and acceptance for their bodies. Amber provides a safe, caring and comfortable environment to promote healing. Her approach is nonjudgmental and her goal is to help you feel at ease while exploring a new path to wellness.

Amber also has a significant background in working with children and their families. In her previous position as a Social Worker, she often worked with families with a variety of concerns including: substance abuse issues, child maltreatment, child neglect and abuse, domestic violence, parenting skills, court-mandated services, family issues and much more. She is confident in helping both children and their families find unity and a sense of togetherness every family strives for. 

When she is not working, Amber enjoys running, hiking, cycling and spending time with her family. She has been an avid runner for over a decade. Amber has participated in many organized sporting events, including cycling tours, running races and has successfully completed a half marathon. In 2014, she had the opportunity to participate as a member of a Psyching Team for the Run the Bluegrass Half Marathon.  Amber gravitates towards a mindful eating, Health At Every Size approach by selecting wholesome, nutritious foods while welcoming a balanced indulgence from time to time.
